The first crossover artist of China invited to create a huge painting of the Easter Altar for the German Catholic Church, and the first public visiting scholar from China at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, Germany. Whilst a lecturer of jewelry design in Shanghai Gench University, and received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Free Arts from the University of the Arts Berlin, Germany, and lives and works in Shanghai and Munich. Member of Gems & Jewelry trade association of China, Shanghai Artists association, Shanghai aesthetics association and Shanghai arts & crafts association, Chinese Artists Germany e.V.,Kunstverein München e.V., German Watercolour Society and German Association of the Arts. Various kinds of paintings, contemporary art jewellery, conceptual photography, installation art and other works have been selected for international exhibitions in China, Germany, Japan and Korea, and have won numerous awards in professional competitions. Various works have been collected by museums, galleries, schools, churches, and other public cultural and art education institutions in Berlin, Munich, Shanghai, etc, as well as by private individuals. Also involved in international charitable work in China, Germany and Nepal.
Artist Statement:
When I was a child, I learnt traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy and took the path of art by accepting the training in Chinese painting, especially gongbi painting. From painting to contemporary jewellery creation, from senior high school teacher to university lecturer in jewellery design, I have been engaged in all kinds of art practice and education and education for more than 20 years. In terms of art history, I have deeply studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy and German abstract expressionist, and my artistic style wandered between abstract art, concrete art and other diversified forms. There are traces of the fusion of Chinese painting and calligraphy with Western design in my works. I apply traditional Chinese painting techniques such as the layered rendering of gongbi painting to new materials such as acrylic. I use minimalist geometry and solid colours to create a multi-dimensional space, and use thin colours to overlay and render mood and create depth. A single geometric colour form repeats itself infinitely, but I achieve self-realisation in the midst of potentially boring actions with my own determination, refusing to mix and striving for purity. In short, the exploration of ancient and modern Chinese and foreign art forms, the deconstruction and reinterpretation of traditional cultural and artistic concepts, the veneration and transmission of oriental aesthetics, and the dialogue with the world through artistic creation have always been my pursuit on the path of art. A single geometric shape is repeated indefinitely without end, but I realise myself in potentially boring actions with my own determination, refusing to mix and pursuing purity.
